Why do humans naturally demonstrate what they're feeling through facial expressions?

when a person is happy, they smile physically

when they're said, the get wrinkles

they don't forcefully do it to their face... it happens on its own. why?

  2. These facial expressions fall under the category of nonverbal communication and are vitally important in interpersonal communication (ie. one on one conversations). We tend to look more towards the nonverbal than the actual verbal since it tends to give away clues as to how we actually feel about what we are saying. It is easier to say a lie than to show a lie. We have all been conditioned to show expressions in our communication, learning it from our parents. However, you can learn to hide the nonverbal portion of communication with training!
