Why do humans not have gills?

  1. because we don't live in water and our lungs provide our air.


  2. Because we live on land and they are evolutionaryily redundant.

  3. Actually we do have the remnants of gills on our necks. They appear as a wrinkle on either side of the neck

  4. Humans don't have gills because they have lungs instead, humans are land mammals and only go into water for bathing or leisure, because we breathe oxygen we have no need for gills which help in gas exchange due to the fact that we live on land.  

  5. over time humans have evolved to have lungs because we live on land and dont need gills to survive..

    but in our early early stages of life while we are still in the womb we do have gills but they later go away when we get lungs
