  1. bacteria build up

  2. All the above have some truth. It is the fact that bacteria do build up BUT it is not the bacteria that smell, it is their waste products that smell - their wee and poo. Want to be covered in poo and wee? Well don't bathe!

We are always shedding dead skin, a favorite food for dust mites. This dead skin doesn't smell sweet after a while also. The smell comes from the worst of things not the best.

  3. Sorry Gary H but this didn't happen to the guy I sat near in McDonald's recently. He was SO bad our whole table had to move well away.

Life is a constant battle against invading bacteria, viruses and parasites. If we don't wash them away regularly, they start to take over and the result is we PONG.

  4. because humans need hygiene. also it builds up bacteria.

  5. the bacteria that cause body odor thrive on sweat. so when u dont wash off the sweat from ur body the bacteria is just left to grow and the bacteria population is increased increasing the bad smell.

  6. Define bad.  Actually, if you go without bathing for awhile (many days), the natural bacterial environment of your body changes (because you are not killing off most of the bacteria, ones you want and ones you don't want, every time you shower).  The bacteria which are mostly responsible for BO will "lose out" to other bacteria and you will not smell so bad.  Your hair will get greasy at first but, once the right kind of bacteria get a healthy population, your hair will not be greasy anymore.
