Why do hurricanes attack coastal regions?

  1. They try to avoid the Inland Revenue Dept.


  2. Hurricanes fuel off of warm water of about 80 degrees F or around that temperature.  The water provides energy for the storm.  Without that energy, the hurricane cannot stay "alive", and dissipates upon reaching the inland areas, but will still remain as strong rain storms, just not as a tropical depression/storm/hurricane.
