  1. Because of the warm weather and warm waters .. that's why when a hurricane goes into the Gulf of Mexico it ends up being terrible because of the warm waters of the Gulf .. scary thing.


  2. Places on Earth take time to heat up. In August and September, these are the months where oceanic temperatures are high enough for tropical systems to form and strengthen into anything more powerful than a tropical depression.
