Why do hurricanes occur on other planets?

  1. Simply because the same dynamics that form a hurricane here on Earth are in play on those other planets too.  For example, the Red Spot on Jupiter is a vortex circulation similar to a hurricane that has been going for centuries.  The dynamics of rising warmer gas, cooler gas moving in to replace the rising gas, the Coriolis effect to impact spin to the system, and latent heat of condensation are all players on other planetary systems.
