Its weird because my family is 100% greek and we r 100% Cretan from the island of Crete. Whenever i meet somebody new they automatically think im arabic or egyptian because i have egyptian like features. i rlly rlly rlly like arabic music, i love the language, and i love the writing. I wish i can speak it fluently, but whenever i hear an arabic song i can pick up the words quicker than normal but i just dont know wat im saying. why is this? im always too afraid to ask my parents this especially my mom because she is rlly racist against everybody, even some greek ppl that arent cretan.

  1. Well you can look up in sights like ancestry.com. I thought my fathers family was Greek but actually they are Turkish or at least some members were.  Can you talk to another family member about it? Usually a grandparent or an aunt or uncle that is a little more open than your mother.  My parents didn't say much about things like that either, but my aunt sure did! lol  I think there is always a family member willing to spill the beans!   Good Luck!

  2. you're obviously thinking too much about it. anyway I'm Arabic and there's nothing wrong in that. i like English music alot and im feeling the same thing backwards.so its totally normal.

  3. Your family might have Egyptian Roots

Many Greek families used to live in Alexandria (North of Egypt, on the Mediterranean Sea).

    OR

Simply you just love Arabic and Egyptian culture :-)

  4. the Greeks , the Italian , and the Egyptian have so much in common.

i travelled a lot and mixed with Greeks and Italian and saw this .

i see a Greek behaving , laughing , eating , and i think this is very much like an Egyptian .

that's why we say we are Mediterranean people .

the culture , looks , moods , air , music , so much in common .

once i was in Cyprus with my best friend .

we made our reservations to stay in Aya Napa , but the tour guide took us to another place .

we were walking in the garden of the hotel . i asked my friend , Where are we ?

a man overheard me , introduced himself to us , and said he was chair in tourism board . he immediately promised us to transfer us to the place we wanted .he invited us to a wedding party in the hotel .

he said he couldnt imagine his wife or daughter in a similar position.

the following day, his daughter came over and took us to Aya Napa .

this behaviour is typical of  good Egyptian men who are gallant and gentlemen with ladies .

his behavior left a good mark on us , and showed us how Cypriots have gentlemen like ours .

    it's the warm culture .

  7. Haha, hey, I'm Egyptian! 100% Egyptian, but I have Turkish ancestry, and I think I might have Greek ancestry :P

Well, It can be very likely that Greek people can have Egyptian ancestry, and Egyptian people to have Greek ancestry, we have a close culture, and for some reason, we like to mate with each other LOL.

Anyways, I would love to have some Greek in me, I might have some, ahah.

Maybe I can teach you some Arabic, and You can teach me some Greek?

    Go MEDITERRANEAN COUNTRIES!!! WOHOO
