  1. cause you are probably in your own world not dealing with reality necessarily

  2. I'm hoping you mean when you are actually awake.  If you mean that you almost feel light-headed type of deal, then it might mean that your sinus' are acting up due to allergies of infection.  Or, it might be that you are dehydrated, or possibly your sugar levels are messed up, and you need to eat something.

  3. Is it a feeling of detachment, or unreality? Are you minus emotions about things you think you should have emotions about, such as someone's death or birth? Or is it more like that lightheaded feeling you get when using certain cold medicines?

Since I don't know exactly what you mean, I'm not sure what advice to offer. If it's a feeling of detachment, that's actually quite normal - it's how you are able to detach from certain trains of thought and focus on the task at hand. If this is it, take advantage of this and get some projects done you have put away for a while. When you have finally finished them you will feel successful at the very least. It's a great feeling.

If you are feeling unemotional, like you can't even find out why you need to cry at a funeral, that's okay too. I don't cry at funerals, mostly because, I don't know, because you are right, they seem so unreal. If you try to work up emotions and can't right now, that's okay. I go through phases where I feel everything and the weight of the world tremendously, and other times I can't feel a thing and can't figure out why everyone else is acting so stupid.

If it's a feeling of not having your senses fully functional, like barely a sense of touch, you can't smell, taste, or hear anything fully, you might want to go to a doctor and ask about getting tested for thyroid or hormonal imbalance. Ask about the possibility of an internal or neck injury you recently had but dismissed as being nothing - it could be something after all.

Since I don't know, I can only offer the above variety. Write down your symptoms and be as exact as you can. Physical symptoms can mean a physical problem, emotional symptoms mean an emotional or psychological problem. By writing down what you feel you will be better able to figure it out or explain to your doctor if necessary.

  4. I'm not sure...  but I get that feeling sometimes too.  I like it sometimes though, it's relaxing since I never get an actual dream when I sleep.

I mean, don't worry if it doesn't bother you, but if it does, try looking it up or ask a doctor.  Try splashing water on your face or take a rest, maybe you're tired and need to be refreshed.

    Hope I helped..  kinda.

  5. this happened to me yesterday and i know why too. it was because something really crazy had happened (something that i never thought could!) and i was in a place that i go to three times a week, but it was slightly different. (like it might be in a dream.) and the whole thing was so upsetting that i felt like it could only be a dream -- that i would wake up and everything would be ok. it was a type of self preservation that your body goes through. so your problem might be that you have really hight stress levels. you might want to try some kind of counseling... see if you feel a little better.
