i was a bit bothered by this today. me and some other people were involved in a somewhat long conversation. I hardly spoke at all, and was afraid that if i did speak up that my opinions would be undervalued by the others listening. where is this fear coming from mentally and how can i overcome this?

  1. maybe u do not hv enough confident to say it?

just say it, and prepare to be critic.

we dont say the right things all the time but we learn through criticm

  2. To overcome the fear of your opinions being undervalued, you must:-

    * Have thorough knowledge of the topic at conversation,so that your views are appreciated.

    * You should be sure of things that you speak about.Just faking about things with no logically meaning gets you  to be "NUT".so,sometimes it is better to be a dumb than a nut.

    * Better increase your IQ and General knowledge,it will increase your confident level and help you relate with the topic.

    * Atleast, give 30 minutes to news and newspapers. It updates you with latest happening.

All you have to do it to ugrade and update your mind and you are ready to speak with consent listener.

  3. If people you hang out with don't value your opinion be loud about your disdain for your treatment. And if that doesn't work, **** them.

  4. of course therapy could help you

but i think something from your past, an experince with a situation somewhat like the one you described, has affected you and now you are slightly "scarred"

explain how you feel to a loved one, and most likely if they really do love you, they will tell you that you ARE important and your opinions do matter.

you can't always feel undervalued. some people will view you as dirt. some people will not care that you exist.

but there are some people who are interested in your opinions and interests and what you have to say.

socialize with those people and you will feel better.

and remember...not everybody will always agree with your values and opinions. some people are stubborn and will always see it their way.

just give up on those people. they're in their own world.

    you are valued.

i value you enough to answer your question and i don't even know you.

    i don't care about the 2 points i get.

    you matter.
