  1. dont listen to babyboler shes just overcomplicating it ^^^

  2. whatever it is, and i'm sure there are numerous reasons, it's all in your head. just approach it differently. don't let the physical aspect of your environment dictate your "wall". and by "wall" i am speaking of the almighty "4th wall"!!!      "The fourth wall is the imaginary wall at the front of the stage in a proscenium theater, through which the audience sees the action in the world of the play".   there is a natural seperation/4th wall, with proscenium because it is there physically. but the 4th wall is a perception thing not just a physical thing. it shouldn't really be a physical thing because the 4th wall is imaginary. it appears and reappears, stays there, and sometimes doesn't exist at all. it shouldn't matter. and i feel like it is a tool for the audience and/or the playwright to get their story across easier. it is not there to make the actor feel better. you can use little tricks to alleviate the nerves: don't make eye contact....stare at a spot right behind the audiences head...make a character choice not to look at anyone. but eventually you're going to have to face your fears.

BUT you are protected...you are someone else. and whomever that is, allow them the power of the story teller...which is the base of all acting, you are simply telling a story. get a mantra going: you have the power, you are the story, they are listening to you. let their energy enable you to be more powerful. i got addicted to theatre because it is THE BEST HIGH i have ever experience...better than s*x! the feeling of a bunch of people coming together to tell one story and then a bunch of people listening and responding to that story....come on!!! it's awesome.

i think it's something you have to get use to and comfortable with. just keep breathing!
