  1. Check out the side effects of all your meds online (wikipedi or just google the 'name/side effects' and have a chat with your GP/prescriber.

    Hope you get it sorted

  2. It's most likely one of your meds.  Call MD & ask.

    Good luck

  3. Hi Happysna,

A metallic taste in the mouth is a fairly common problem — and usually not serious. Although you don't have actual taste buds that detect metals, the perception of the taste is described as "metallic."

A metallic taste can be due to many factors. But the most common causes of a metallic taste are:

Medications such as some antibiotics, prenatal vitamins and antidepressants, as well as drugs used to treat high blood pressure, rheumatoid arthritis and kidney stones

Oral problems, including oral infections such as gingivitis or periodontitis, tooth infections, and poor oral hygiene

Sometimes the cause of a metallic taste can't be determined. In many cases, the problem goes away on its own after several months or longer. Proper oral hygiene can help, including regularly brushing your teeth and brushing and scraping your tongue.

I know you look after your teeth so one of the others might be a help.

    Good luck Hun.

  4. That's one of the symptoms of pregnancy. Possible?

Would the two people below me who gave me thumbs down kindly check any pregnancy site and they'll see "metallic taste in mouth" as a possible symptom of early pregnancy.

    Thank you.

  6. go check with your dentist, you might have cavities.

  7. How well do you brush your back teeth, and have you had all you wisdom teeth out? If not it is possible that one of them is slowly rotting and will lead to severe tooth ache and require immediate extraction. I had it myself 2 years ago.

  8. did you take any steroids? like medical ones. my mom was on some for a while and she could not shake the taste of metal no matter what she did.

  9. I'm not saying you are pregnant, but it is ONE of the early signs of pregnancy.

Maybe take a test if you think there is any chance you could be?

  10. It'll be from the meds.  You get it from stuff like zopiclone or zolpidem.  Don't worry look up common side effects of what your taking and I bet it's there as a metallic/bitter taste.

  11. You don't name your medication but it is probably the reason for the taste. Some anti-depressants cause the symptoms you describe.
