ok guys heres a quick story, im in my room about to go to sleep, when i notice a spider crawling across the wall above my window, the spider is about 50p in size. i have a huge phobia when it comes to spiders, so i go downstairs to get the vacuum, i come back upstairs, plug it in then go back into my room, i see the spider still above my window, i shut the door to stop from waking anybody else up, then i hear i small thud, i look up and the spider is gone, it obviously dropped, my bed is right up against the window so its now under my bed, and im freaking out big time.so heres the question; could a spider have survived that fall? and if it did, is it possible ill see it again? im kinda freaking out here and i need to sleep lol so i need some reasurences. is there anything i can do to find the spider and get rid of it? or do i now have to just suck up the fear and wait it out? thanks guys

  1. First of all instead of killing them you can catch them easily with this product - It is called - Spider and Insect Catch and Release Tool.

Keep it near you while sleeping.

If you have spiders that means you have prey for them so they are getting rid of other insects there by providing you free of cost service.

    Preventing Spider Problems

There are many ways to make your home less appealing to spiders. If there are cracks in your foundation or around windows and doors, seal them up.

Check places where water pipes and electrical lines enter your house, and caulk any openings.

Keep woodpiles and debris away from your house.

In storage areas, put boxes up off the floor and away from walls.

Seal boxes with tape to keep spiders from living inside them. In general, cleaning up clutter will mean you have fewer spiders.

Pruning vegetation away from your house and keeping the area next to the foundation clear will also make your house less attractive to spiders.

Outdoor lighting sometimes attracts insects, which in turn attracts spiders.

You can move outdoor lighting away from windows and doors if this is a problem around your home. - http://www.pesticide.org/spiders.html

  2. For most spiders, they would survive a 1000 foot fall.  Large spiders shun people so you may never see the spider again even  while it is in the room.  You best chance would be to lay back down on the best and be still.  You need a lot of patience it could be a long time.  It may also find a good place under something build a web and wait to see if it catches anything.  I do not know if spiders move on when prospects are poor or they just wait and see.  But either way if you do not have insect problems there is unlikely enough food for a large spider so he will move on.
