Why do i have big canine teeth?

i have had my braces for a while now and now there off...i noticed that my canine's were bigger than everyone else's...like really big...anywayz...i asked my dentist if that was normal and he said that it was...but so far im the only person he's seen with my teeth like that in his clinic...so then y do i have such huge canine's?

Humans have canines for the same reason other animals do- they are tearing teeth.  Think about the teeth you would use to bite off a chunk of tough, leathery jerky.  If yours are extra long, that's just a case of being on the large size of average.  Other people have canines which are even with their other teeth.  No big deal, but I would avoid garlic....
