Why do i have no light?

hi, i went downstairs last week and hit the bathroom light and nothing went on, when i went in the laundry room (where the breaker is) i hit both light switches and only one went on. the breaker was not hit, so that is ok, and i've replaced the bulbs and still no light. any ideas?

  1. Could the bathroom light be wired to a GFCI receptacle? That's the receptacle that's found in Kitchens and Bath's, and is required by the NEC (National Electric Code). Look at the receptacle in the bath, it should have a "test" and "reset" button. See if it's been tripped by pressing the reset button, if it has, it's possible that the light will work when you reset it. Also, some homes have GFCI breakers, check those as well.
