Why do i have spots around my nose piercing?

I've had my nose pierced for about 5 weeks now. the woman at the piercing shop said it looks fine and i can take it out at the end of the 6 weeks holidays.. but there's a couple of spots (or small bumps) around it now and there has been since like.. 4 weeks. a lot of people said they got them when they go their nose done but i was wondering why they come and why around the piercing. thankss (: Lill xx

  1. I suggest you do not change the jewelry until its completely healed. It takes btw 3-6 months for a nose piercing to fully heal. Changing the jewelry before its healed can irritate the piercing causing infection, hypertropic scarring which is small boil like bumps that form around the piercing site & delayed healing. Just cleanse the area 2-3 times a day w/ warm sea salt compresses and dab tea tree oil on the bump(s). The bumps usually consist of scar tissue so it can take a while for it to completely disappear so give it time. The bumps are common in cartilage piercings they form if the piercing has been played with, tugged on, certain jewelry and usually when done w/ a piercing gun.  Good Luck
