Why do i have to mess with the dvd player cords to show on the screen its only 6 mounths old?

i got a dvd player and the jacks in the back i got to mess with for it to popup on the screen do you know how to fix it and no i cant take it back

If you have to unplug the DVD player cords and then plug them back in for the TV to recognize the DVD player, that sound like the TV is not staying on the proper source for the DVD player. If u just have to giggly them around a little, then it could be corrosion on the ends of the connectors.

What cords are you referring to? Can you switch the cords?

Can you try to plug it into another input. Try narrow down the source of the problem. Bad cables, bad input, etc..
