  1. because you will fly out that window going 40mph if you had a crash

if your dead in the car your easy to clean up, if your splattered on the car of another person its not to nice and i wouldn't wanna clean it up

  2. they really can't force you to wear one. but they can fine you for not wearing one. that way you get to decide when it has cost you enough for your hissy

  3. as long as your over 18, you dont HAVE to wear it, but it really is best to.  you may be a safe driver, but other people arent!

  4. It's the law kiddo!!!

  5. You realy shouldn't wear your seat belt.  That way we can get your a$$ off the roads for good a lot quicker!

  6. 'Cause they got guns. Not only that, next time you are on the freeway, take off your seatbelt, accelerate to whatever the speed limit is (or h**l, 35 miles per hour) and plow straight into a concrete barrier. Get back to me on it.

  7. No one can MAKE you wear it, but in some cases, wearing a seat belt can mean the difference between life and death. I know people who have been in wrecks and were told, "You would have died if you weren't wearing a seatbelt."

So it would most likely be in your best interest.

Also, some states are now passing a law where they can pull you for not wearing a seat belt. So no, they can't make you wear it, but they can certainly fine you for not!

    :)

  8. and if ur in an accident and u didn't wear your belt....then ask this question again..

  9. Aw man, I don't wanna' see another human body, that was not wearing a seat belt, thrown through the front window of a car and then slam onto the pavement. The blood splattered for yards, and her legs were twisted all wrong. I'm glad her face wasn't turned in my direction. I would've heaved big time.

Don't be a smartass. Wear your d**n seat belt.

  10. Because when you go through the windshield and are in a wheelchair for the rest of your life you will need health care paid for by others.

Your actions (in not wearing a safety belt) do not just affect yourself.

  11. Because in most states its a law and unless you are some reckless person who doesn't care about laws or protecting your own life or the lives of people in your vehicle then by all means... skip the belt

FYI....read the statistics on line about how many lives were saved in car accidents by simply fastening your seatbelt, and how many faces were permanently disfigured because they smashed into the windshield, maybe the act of buckling up won't seem so stupid.

  12. it's a lot harder to clean up if you don't wear on

  13. I was told by someone in law enforcement that the real reason is because when someone gets seriously injured and they're unable to pay for their medical bills, tax payer money then takes over.  Tax payers also supposedly spend so many millions of dollars on motor vehicle accident medical bills, because the injured are unable to pay.  Liability insurance only covers to a limit.  The person found at fault often may not have money to pay for the other person's medical bills, and many people only have liability insurance not collision insurance.  That's also one of the main reasons why many states have helmet laws if you're riding a bike.

Yes, it's your car.  On your property you can do anything you want with your car.  If you don't have a driver's license, you can build a race way on your property and drive around, without a seat belt on.  When you're on public roads maintained by the government, that's where traffic laws come in.

It also may be a good idea to wear a seat belt.  Almost every statistic on this subject says that out of all "fatal car accidents", 50% of them could have been prevented if the person would have been wearing a seatbelt.  So, sometimes people are wearing seat belts anyway and they die, and sometimes they weren't and they don't die, but half of those who do die it's determined it could have been prevented if they would have.

It's also a good idea to be wearing a seatbelt if you drive off the road into water.  They had a thing on the Discovery Channel about if your car goes off the road into a body of water.  If you drop 10 feet going not very fast and hit water with your car, it's like hitting concrete.  Before you have the chance to take off your seatbelt and get out of the car, it's important to still be conscious, not knocked unconscious.  A seat belt can help you there.  Then after that you take off your seat belt (if you haven't been knocked out), open the window to let some water in (to equalize the pressure so that you can actually open your car door), and then get out.  That's something that has been on the Discovery Channel.  Various sources also say if you get in an accident and a fire starts, if you're still conscious, you'll probably be more likely to get out of the car in time.

My grandma hated seat belts when she was alive.  When she was 20, she was in a serious car accident.  She was the only one with a seatbelt on and everyone else was ejected from the car but her.  She was in a coma for two weeks.  However, that's a rare case.  Usually when you're thrown from a motor vehicle, your chances of dying greatly increase.

    Buckle Up

  14. perssonally this is pretty obvious. so you dont die easier

  15. You should wear your seat belt to keep your pretty little face from going through the windshield in case of an accident.
