Why do i keep disconnecting on my wireless network?

i have a netgear wireless router and i have a wifi and i keep disconnecting every 10 seconds. why is this happening? i have avg 8.0 anti virus and i have windows defender.

  1. Depends how far away from the router you are/how strong the signal is/if your drivers are up to date/if your hardware is faulty/etc/etc.


  2. It could be your ISP if its internet disconnection only, if its router, try upgrading the firmware

  3. Hi, it could be that your router is near a strong electrical circuit, ie close to a cooker, microwave, television, try moving it to diff locations and see if that helps

  4. You probably have a bad connection. In the bottom right corner of you computer it will tell you how many bars you have. If you have a lap top, simply move to a different area in your home. Since it is such a hassle, I would do the same with your computer as well!

  5. I have a similar problem which is under investigation by BT.The problem may not be your at end at all.

  6. do you get it back or dose the icon flash blue then turn grey?

  7. If you sure there were not any virus or trojan and your PC has no trouble, pls : Increase your signal strength..  

  8. Bad signal.
