i always wake up several times in the night because i get dehydrated...and the water doesn't do it for me..it has to be something like juice, gatorade, crystal light etc...it always happens to me and i never sleep straight without consuming these fluids. What is it that i can do?

  1. Some things you might want to try.

    1.  drink more during the day, especially in the morning after waking

    2.  drink a glass of water with or after meals (adding water to your system with food helps hydrate you - food, generally being dry, needs water to go through your system as well and if you are generally dehydrated, eating dry food without water will deplete you)

    3.  stop drinking coffee or soda or iced tea for awhile if you drink them - they can all cause dehydration

    4.  eat a little more fruit and drink fruit juice alone or added to mineral water

    5.  add moisture to the air in your sleeping area, either by using a moist (not soaking wet) towel to let the water evaporate in the air, or put a bowl or pot of hot water near your bed (hot so more water will be added from the steam) - if the air is too dry when you are sleeping, you will wake up parched
