Why do i lose my connection to xbox live for about a minute?

Most times when I am playing a match on halo 3, my connection drops and I get brought back to the menu. Its annoying and I dont understand why it happens. I have a fast internet connection, 3.0mps DSL. Every time this problems occurs, the internet light on my router turns of and soonly back on. What can i do to fix this problem?

Get a new router.

What, you were expecting helpful advice? Routers are practically engineered to prevent gaming with their redundant firewalls and fail-safes intended to "keep your computer safe". If I were you I would drop the piece of **** completely while playing games.
