Why do i need a windows vista disc to load windows?

Question

I am running windows vista on my pc but recently windows will not load or it displays 'please insert CD'. This has never happened before. Any ideas?

have you tried system restore to a point before this happened.after

you've got it up and running again.

file has become corrupt probably due to malware, virus or the PC not being shut down properly
