No. It's because each day you pick up a starter for the next day so you get more ks and wins.

If it isn't a keeper league, then there are likely better options available than a rookie.

Yeah I own him too. A lot of people pick up SP just for a spot start. Then they drop him that day/night for another spot start. Dont worry about it. Just keep checking on your players when you see that and unless it says hes injured or is losing playing time or had a really bad game, hold on to him.
