Why do i see the same guy in linkin park and fort minor?

Im confused cuz i saw this guy in fort minor ( a band ) and he is also in linkin park. and in a song called get me done i think by fort minor it says like " yeah we just finished a linkin park album" geez just someone explain@!!!!!

The guy you're talking about is Mike Shinoda.

He's the rapper and backing vocalist/guitar/piano guy in Linkin Park. While LP was taking a break, he started the side band Fort Minor. He said he did it because he wanted to be able to do more of a rap style, and Linkin Park is more about singing than rap.
