Sometimes after i run i feel really sick and have to eat something. This really makes running pointless for me because im trying to cut weight but i just gain it back because i have to eat something. I've tried toughing the sickness out but it truned into a brutal headache and i eventually vomited. I went running today and i feel fine and im not hungry at all. What do i need to do to make myself feel fine and not hungry just like i am today? Thanks for any help guys.

  1. You got that brutal headache because you were not taking in enough calories. I used to get them too during marathon training. It fixed itself when i took in more calories. You never told us how far you were running, but I'm fairly certain of the cause of your headache anyway.

Eat something light before you run. A power bar or something. Or an energy gel. Get enough fluids.

I understand your desire to lose weight, but losing weight by not eating enough is unhealthy.

Talk to a dietitian. Figure out how many calories you are burning on the runs.

That link will help you figure that out.

Then talk to a dietitian about how many calories you should be taking in for the day based on your fitness goal taking into consideration your workouts.

Losing weight does not mean starving yourself or depriving your body of what it actually does need.

  2. Gee, I don't know why it happens, but it happens to me if I swim after eating (I guess Mom was right about that after all :)

I would recommend you buy yourself a good protein bar and have half before you run, and half after.  Stay away from milk or milk products, though, as they seem to not agree with vigorous exercise.

  3. first off go to your doctor and get checked out.

if they okay running i would try a custard or juice before running.

to be honest you should check with your doctor about your diet.

  4. I used to get the same thing. And I would be able to taste blood in my mouth when I breathed out. I think it's just from being unfit and eating too close to when you go for your run. If you're taking nutrition seriously you should look up pre and post run nutrition. You should try not to eat or drink too much an hour and a half to two hours before your run.

  5. uhm... don't eat anything before you run.. drink LOTS of water before and after. and if you do have a stomach ache, eat a couple of saltine crackers.

if you do eat anything before you run, wait at least a half an hour.

    ^.^ hope this helped!

  6. maybe u are not used to running long and u are overworkin ur self, try takin it little by little every day. good luck mate
