Why do icecubes, if left in the freezer too long, eventually disappear?

  7. I think it has to do with sublimation. When water freezes, it gives off a gas that is removed from the water (evaporation). Thus leaving less water and a smaller cube. Eventually completely becoming gas and onto the walls of your freezer.

    How long are you leaving them in for for them to completely disappear?

    Edit: I am not positive so do not quote it. I'm gonna look and maybe I'll let you know what i discover.
