Why do indianapolis public schools and warren township schools have to wear uniforms

  1. I graduated from Warren Central 2 years ago and no one was wearing uniforms... My friends still in school still aren't... Is it elementary only?  The first poster has it right, it would be voted on by the school board.

Very unusual for a public school to require a uniform, but it would have to be something voted on by the board of education trustees, teachers, and likely even the parents would have a vote in this.  If the vote allows or even requires uniforms, then there is the answer.  The voting members deemed it what they want for their school district and want uniformity versus dealing with other dress codes.  Uniforms don't have to be a bad thing, but it does take away some individuality.
