Why do indians eat with there hands?

because maybe (i think) long long ago there were no utensils in India and well its been a tradition or maybe its a way easy way to eat i'm a srilankan (close to a Indian) and well i eat with my hands and when there is rice and some different curry its easy to eat it with your hands rather with a spoon or a fork!   man I'm going to get riped for this but.........its natural to eat with your hands most culture didn't have the need for spoons and forks ect those things were created to keep those who carried diseases from putting their hands in their mouth and becoming sick........thats why before you eat you were told to go wash your hands if your using a spoon or fork why wash your hands ???? its natural to use your hands that what a baby does spoons ect were a gift to help those we found that were sick and carried disease of the skin if you have a skin disease the last thing you should do is put your hands in your mouth. so spoons and forks were medical tools that have found their why into everday use but eating with your hands is natural.

Actually, it's quite common. A lot of cultures eat with thier hands.
