Question:

Why do insects seem to attack me?

My husband never gets any bites and as soon as any bugs are out I seem to have them all over me. From the fleas my dog seemed to drag into the house to the misquitoes, they make me MISERABLE! Why do they bite me and it seems like only me?

  1. They like you. I rarely get bitten myself.

  2. sweet blood apparentley

  3. No expert here, but it must be your sweat glans.

Like i said no expert though.

    Good Luck!

  4. It may well be that these insects find you particularly tasty.

  5. *Sprays anti-bug spray on you*

    There you go :)

  6. They are more attracted to you instead of your husband.... haha   I don't know, but I have noticed similar things before.  The women get bit more than men.  Maybe its perfume or makeup bugs like?  Women might give off pheromones that bugs like as well.

  7. Could be your soap/perfume or food you eat. I am from Australia and we learn that to ward off mosquitoes, eat bananas or vegemite. Insects have certain tastes too, I guess.

  8. I have always heard they like fragrances that women wear...perfumes, lotions and hairspray....also they are attracted to body temp...and I know that certain insects are attracted to certain colors.  I have always been a mosquito target...I do tend to like my floral fragrances which I have curtailed on summer evenings outside and that has helped.  I have been using Advantage from the vet on my dogs for years and I have not seen a flea in our house since...I don't know when..and I have 2 dogs. (long hair doxies) that live in the house.  I get a spray mosquito repellant for them from Petsmart to put on them in the evenings when we are sitting outside or cooking out..because the mosquitos torment them...it has been very helpful for them too.  I also have this recipe for spraying your yard to keep mosquitos down:

    1 cup lemon ammonia

1 cup lemon scented dish washing detergent

    warm water

put the ammonia and detergent in a 20 gallon hose-end sprayer and fill the balance with warm water..in the early evening soak places in your yard where mosquitos tend to gather--bushes and dark places..do this three times a week and it really helps keep them away--also helps with flies

  9. my little girl was getting lots of bites from mosquito and i took her to the doctor and he said not to give her sweets. well i don't eat sweets and drink a lot of water and i don't get bites. but i got that from my doctor and it works.

  10. I have the same problem .I could Be outside with twenty people and no bugs by anyone but me , I found that the Burt's bees insect repellent works the best for me.  give that a try it's the only thing that seems to work I'm glad i found it. it has lemongrass and citronella oil in it.  you could even get some of those plants and put them around too to  keep the bugs away. I also heard if you take vitamin b complex vitamins and eat bananas it helps, got that tip from my doctor , I also go inside when the bugs start coming out at night , hard thing to do when everyone else is out, but  I have to.

  11. Me and my step-mum both have A+ blood and bugs always seem to go for us first so . . possibly you fit into my blood theory of entomological attraction . . ? or I could jst so deleriously sick of being bug chow that I'm fishing for excuses . . either way
