Did an experiment where the results showed invertebrates prefered hedges over long grass why? I also had a lack of results but I can't think of reasons why. The experiment was done earlier on this year when it was cold and wet

  1. There is more shelter within a hedge than long grass.  The way that branches twist around provides a more complex structure for habitat that animals in general prefer.  In fact, habitat complexity is often an indicator of species richness.

  2. As most invertebrates don't prefer hedges, there's something wrong with the assumption underlying the question.
