Why do ipod song sound louder and softer and weird when i plug it into my car stereo? and how can i fix it?

This only happens when i plug it into my car. the songs are either really high pitched or low or to soft and it goes from a soft song which i have to turn up really loud to a loud song and it blows out the speakers

on the ipod it is set up to be pre-tuned to earphones or 2 channel set ups like the stereo speakers that are made for ipods. but with those it cancels out the tuning on the ipod so you only get the song files. thats why they made the ipod interface for car systems to play through to stereo as a file with the stereo's own equalizer.

but a way you can help the listening is to turn off the equalizer on the ipod and have the volume set to 75% or a little bit lower but if to low it ill start to mesh. to high it will sound distorted.
