Why do itunes put a lock on some of their songs and how do i unlock it?

i recently bought some and there's a little lock in the corner.

how do i get rid of it?

If you want to unlock your video and audio files purchased from iTunes . You should remove DRM protection of them. Most of video converter software can't convert DRM protected media files.
