Question:

Why do itunes rip off the UK?

Hello , i have been looking at the prices for items on the UK and US itunes stored.

A game for example costs £3.99 on the UK store whereas it costs $4.99 on the US store.

Now $4.99 is less than £3.99 if you convert it back into Pounds.

How can itunes get away with ripping off the UK, its really unfair.

Also can i can i use the US store if i am in the UK?

  1. Hi: Maybe mutiple factors but one could be the Euro value and the dollar value. I-tunes may be evaulated on the dollar and not the Euro and the dollar being lower gives rise to a lower price within the US..I-tunes may need to recoup because of the exchang (psycial) and electronic process that takes place during a transaction..The product is the same being bought but the area where bought may call for a slighty higher price (like when U buy petrol) from one part of the country is lower and another is higher. I don't think they are ripping anyone, just business as usual..regards.

  2. to be honest i would imagine that in america more poeple use mac osx thanks micrsoft but here more people use microsoft so for the pepole who do use mac osx or apple they have to recoup more money so they charge more
