Why do jobs give you such a hard time? I was at a store that I go to often & saw a sign stating that they?

were looking for customer service, stocking and someone to work the cutting area. I put in for it talked to a manager that she told me that the hiring manager was on vacation & call HIM back in two weeks. I called instead of talking to HIM I talk to a HER who told me that I was mistaken. They are not hiring & there was never a sign that stated they were looking for people in stock, customer service, or cutting are. I am NOT crazy I know what I saw my friend was with me when I filled out the application & she remembers seeing it too. It seems like you have to beg for a job these days! What gives?! Why do they lie to you?!

You need to make a really good resume. Work experience is key.

yeah suzbaile's right....you don't want to work for nimrods like that....there's other jobs just as good out there...keep your chin up....good luck..-wendy

I want to start off by saying that I in no way want to hurt your feelings. BUT as someone who worked for an employment agency I can tell you that this is a classic blow-off. For some reason, could be they didn't like the way you were dressed, your previous work experience, or the woman may have just had a bug up her butt, she decided when she took your application that she wouldn't be hiring you. Also, (and again, I am not trying to be mean or rude) don't fill out applications when you have people with you and make sure that you are appropriately dressed. I would put people who brought their friends in with them to fill out applications at the bottom of the pile. It's unprofessional.

Edit: sounds like you did everything right, then. I agree with the other posters..be glad you don't have to work with her!

Well, look at it this way: It's better to find out the manager is crazy this way- than by working for her!  She just saved you a whole lot of headaches.
