  1. Being a jockey myself for the last 27 years and still riding,I dont have a twang or squeak in my voice,it's because them other jocks Balls have'nt dropped yet.Ive got a voice to bring down the Sydney harbour bridge.

  2. Several things.  Not all jockeys have twangs or squeaky voices.  The one's that do have a twang are from the south where lots of people have twangs.  Remember horse racing is really big in Kentucky and they do speak that way in Ky.  Squeak in their voice might come from the fact that the smaller the person the smaller and tighter the vocal cords yielding a higher pitch in their voice.

Funniest thing was Steve Cauthens.  From the south he had a Southern drawl.  He went to ride in England for several years and when he came back he had an English accent with a Southern drawl.

  3. there midgets whose balls never dropped and never went through puberty

  4. Of course, not all of them are like this, but some are.

I don't know the answer to that!

  5. excessive blows to the testicles

  6. A good many of the jockeys I am familiar with are usually from countries in Latin America, and they tend to speak with more of a nasal voice than someone who is native to the USA.  I DON'T believe that it has ANYTHING whatsoever to do with lack of hormones or undescended testicles- that is a crazy idea. Also, most jockeys I have seen are NOT midgets- they are just men ( and women) of short stature who love to ride horses at high speeds.

  7. Why do people in the midwest have a twang or southerners have a drawl..?? The ones that do that I personally know like Shane Sellers, Mike Smith, Pat Day, Randy Romero, Robby Albarado and many more actually come from places in the United States when non-jockeys also have that same twang. It is called an accent.

Reply: Well,  lots of jockeys come from the same area such as for example Calvin Borel, Shane Sellers are from Louisiana.

Jockeys from England, France and other places in Europe do not have a twang. All the great Spanish riders from Chile , Peru, Peurto Rico  etc ( I'll spare you names ) have a Spanish accent not a twang. I working Racing I know many jockeys this is not a boast it is just fact. I hear them speak. Richard Migliore, Mike Luzzi, don't have twangs they come from NY and Maryland. But the guys from the midwest and deep south do. Some are more pronounced than others, two South Carolinas boys I know didn't have much of a drawl at all Herb McCauley and the late Chris Antley. If I am going to answer your question I would think the fact that I CAN reference specific jockeys that I have had personal contact with would make my answer a more viable one. Perhaps I should have listed all their names as my source.
