i think its coz they dont get in the way, like jeans be uncomfy, trousers would be to flairy n get in the way.

Jockeys wear tights under their breeches simply to keep warm with out adding extra weight.

So it doesn't cause any drag (wind friction) when they race. Same reason swimmers shave their body hair.

they cant wear shorts because their legs would rub up against the horse/ saddle witch really hurts. Loose pants would drag them back. so what do they wear? Tights!!!! (also called breeches!!!!!) lol.

Jockeys wear tights under their breeches to simply keep warm!  There is nothing unusual in that.

The tights add an extra layer of clothing to retain heat without adding any weight to the jockeys body.

Some jockeys in GB and Ireland have started wearing black breeches in the winter as they retain the heat better than whote ones.
