Why do kids at my high school think it's weird to wear make up?

I mean I moved to the Philippnes and where I used to live and most places, we usually start getting into make up when you're a freshman. But from what I've seen no one really wears make up.

I barely wear any make up anywayz. I wear powder foundation, blush and some mascara. Big deal, so why is everyone making a big deal out of it on me?

I feel so crappy growing up here now. Is this really how things are, is it even normal? I mean no offense or anything, but I just feel like I'm not a teenager. Only the kids at the international school understand what I'm going through when at being a teenager and getting into stuff like that.

  1. Hmm. Thats kinda weird... at my school, there are girls in 5th and 6th grade that are wearing makeup now. If you really want to wear makeup, maybe just wear some natural makeup so people won't notice as much.

  2. Maybe culutrally they feel that at your age, makeup is not need yet?

  3. I would imagine it's some level of culture shock and or conditioning on both sides. They might not understand where you're coming from on why you think you need it. There is also the possibilities they're not able to afford it financially as you are and it's intimidating or embarrassing and to them  it may not be something they consider not practical due to climate.

Maybe if opportunity strikes, you could trust someone there to tell you what's up?

either way I pray you'll find comfort there soon.

  4. It is not weird to wear make-up, it might just be that wear they grew up make-up is not very popular, but sure wear make-up just don't go over the top. Use it lightly! Maybe you will start a new trend : ]
