Why do kids eat p**p?

my sister's kids have been having changes cause of all my sis and her husband fighting. well one day one of my nephews came to my sister and handed her p**p from his hand and she noticed some in his teeth... well she doesn't know what to do? Do we have to be concern???

this is really unhealthy. when he goes to the bathroom watch him and if he tries to eat  any say no thats bad.
