Why do kids want to have days off school ?

Everyday my son wants to have a day off school so do all his friends.

Don't you get bored doing the same things every day? I know I do/did. I hated school when I was a kid. It was get up go to school and go home and do homework, eat dinner, watch some tv or some other activity and go to bed. Thats boring.

Note: Most schools have a min. of 3 recesses per day a morning, after lunch, and an afternoon.

This is normal!! Many children always want to have the day off school everyday, they could find it boring!! The best thing to do is sit down with your son and ask him why he doesnt want to go to school!

okay my kids have left for school so I am on my own and can tell you. Because school is terrible. I hated it. Bullying, being told what to do all day, when to eat, when to go to the toilet, the pressure, the hand cramps from writing, *shudder...so glad those days are over.

Have u forgotten what is was like to be a kid?  It's so much more fun to hang out all day instead of learning things you need to know to get into college and eventually have a good paying job.  As an adult, wouldn't u like a day off work?

Well, younger children weren't made to sit in a desk for 7 hours of the day, possibly with a single recess break, though some schools don't do that.  So, for many, school is not something they enjoy that much.  I homeschool, and my almost 7-year-old and almost-5-year-old don't spend anywhere near that much time having to sit still in a day.  It would be hard at their age, and is rather unnatural, to be expected to sit still all day.

Some don't like it because it's boring.  In 3rd grade, I used to do my homework in class and still have time to read 3 Nancy Drew books in the course of a single school day.  I happened to be one of the ones ahead of the "average" that was being taught too.

Other children are behind that curve and don't like school because it's a constant struggle.

Others don't want to go to school because of bullies, unkind teachers, not fitting in, etc.

Lots of reasons.

i am a kid CUZ WE HATE SCHOOL OK........ NO KID LIKES SCHOOL LISTEN TO ME CAREFULLY IF U HAVE A KID THEY HATE SCHOOL................ Children are like adults they stress to and just need some (me along) time. They carry different type of pressures but the do have them.

Same reason that adults want to have days off from work. Its BORING.

Well, boring is usually the reason. School might be too hard or to easy for your son. Or he might be bullied (that was why I reallllllly hated school for a long time).

because it so tirering...we hate it we dont think fun is in school all day not listing to the teachers...it is boring we get way to much homework and it loud and crowed...the food sucks and we get really sick of it and we get tired and than we get yelled at for sleeping...and sometimes it is so nice out and we dont have anything like recess...only if you have a class outside like P.E...
