Why do large, multi cellular organisms need specialised cells????

please help me i have an assignment due in two days and i have know idea how to answer this question, please help!!!!

  1. Think about your own body since I'm assuming you are a large multicellular organism.

    Your body is many cell layers thick.  This means that most of your cells do not directly experience your external environment.  So, if you are going to regulate your body temperature internally, your cells inside have to respond to stimuli that are being experienced by cells far away from them.  

    To do this requires a complex set of tissues and organs that have to perform the different function needed.  You need cells that are going to receive the stimulus.  You need cells that are going to process the stimulus.  You need cells that are going to make and release messenger molecules to send the message.  You need cells that can respond to the message in different ways like through muscle contractions.


  2. Because multi cellular organisms have to carry out complex life function. Only specialized cells carried these functions.

    -Reproduce

    -Digest

    -Transfer sugar, energy or other things.
