Why do latinos idolize caucasian beauty?

Okay on telemundo, you have blondes and whiteys everywhere speaking spanish. If they spoke english, they would be perfectly normal white-folk. They don't look hispanic at all. And I see latino girls all over with bleach blonde hair, trying to look white. Whats the appeal? Does this have to do with colonialism, commercialism, what? Why are the actors on mexican TV caucasian looking?

They aren't TRYING to look white--they ARE white. But of course that just doesn't sit right with you does it? Which in my point of view makes you a racist.
