Why do less people vote in provincial or municipal elecions per capita?

  1. Less media coverage. Generally viewed as trivial, especially when national elections are occuring.


  2. people feel that they are less important overall, and yes media coverage plays a part, but it is important to vote in local government where you may be one of 1,000 instead of one of 100 million.  Your vote matters more
