Question:

Why do libs label anyone who opposes g*y marriage as a "homophobe"?

The vast majority of g*y marriage opposers say they don't mind what homosexuals do in private, they just don't want them to practice their homosexuality in public.

If a liberal is called a 'christian hater' for wanting religion keep out of society and to one's self, they will deny it and call the accuser oversensitive. So why do they make such generalizations about conservatives when the two are basically the exact same thing?

  1. A homophobe is someone who fears or has contempt for lesbians or g**s. What other reason would a person have for not wanting people to practice homosexuality in public?

  2. You are confusing s*x with religion.

Christians believe homosexuality is a sin right along with lying and stealing. It is still going to be committed, but do we make laws enabling this sin to get benefits by this behavior? This is the problem.

Liberals feel these are people who should have the same rights as everyone else...who cares what they do in private? Unfortunately, MARRIAGE is a Christian word with a Christian definition: The holy union between a man and a woman for the purpose of raising Godly children.

Since homosexuals CANNOT fill this definition, any union between them needs to be recognized by the state as something different than marriage. I, personally have no issue with people who want to achieve a union by state laws for the purpose of taxes and death wishes and money control. If 2 elderly sisters want to be able to make life or death decisions or handle their money like a marriage, why not? Just don't call it a marriage...that defames my religion.

  3. there's a big difference idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! People should be able to be g*y where ever they want. g**s dont tell straight people to keep it in private. Did u ever think that g*y people get offended when they see ur straight-*** in public. Do u see how stupid it sounds reversed?

If two guys are holding hands in public, they are no pushing u to be g*y, like them. But singing religious hyms in school is pushing religion on some children that do not want to hear about some made-up god.

  4. What kind of Christian imposes his or her belief on others that don't agree with them? (they just don't want them to practice their homosexuality in public.)

Isn't that more like the Taliban rather than Christianity?

Maybe the g**s get just as disgusted seeing married or herto couples swooning all over each other in public too, but they don't try to impose their belief on them !

A little tolerence is what you need to learn

be a little more American and try to respect others that opinions are different han yours

  5. To marginalize those opposed to it.  If they call them a name that implies fear then they can say that their arguments are based in fear and not worthy of consideration..

  6. This is the political doctrine 101. If you cannot gain traction against your opponent with facts. Distort their positions and label them as intolerant. I disagree with you on one part though. I do not believe that your average conservative cares if people practice open sexuality and most are not even adverse to the idea of civil unions for g*y couples. What they want is for the institution of marriage to be defined as being between a man and a woman.

  7. libs are good with sterotypes

    and intolerance

  8. Well, what other reason could there be for someone not wanting people to be themselves in public, when that behavior does not harm anyone? There are no valid legal or ethical reasons for being opposed to same-s*x marriage, so all that is left is bias.

And please show me one single example of a liberal wanting to keep religion out of society, rather than keeping it out of government.

  9. I think it's because they can't see that hating an action and hating a person is not the same thing... I know quite a few Christians that align themselves with the liberal standpoint... even though they do not agree with many of the ideals of liberals...

In my opinion and my observations, the loudest liberals that shout intolerance do so because they don't like the intolerance that is within themselves and they are just like the legalistic Christian Conservative... throwing rocks at another's glass house.

  10. I am politically conservative, ie. small government;  personal responsibility; low taxes; etc I couldn't care less about g*y marriage; am not qualified to have a position on abortion (I'm a man); and am a christian who believes we cannot legislate morality, which by the way was the same position Jesus had.

I would like to see people separate politics from moral positions.  If that happened one could have a position on g*y marriage that suits their personal beliefs but didn't enter the political arena.  When will this country put the country first and not vote narrow minded positions?

  11. They have a name for anything or anybody that disagrees with their ideology.  If you appose g*y marriage, your homophobic, if you don't like Obama, you're a racist, etc.  They're easy to figure out.

  12. i think that g*y marriages are worrg i mean god did put man man or woman ans woman together if he did there would be something there on every person to you know!!!

  13. I wouldn't say all are homophobes.  Just those who are frightened by their own latent tendencies.

  14. I don't. I'm a liberal and I oppose g*y marriage.

  15. If you don't like "Homophobe" would you prefer "Religious Bigot"?  The only reason the ban was passed in the first place is because homosexuality is banned by the Bible, which makes it a clear case of enacting laws respecting the establishment of one particular religion and forbidding the free exercise of all others, a clear violation of the First Amendment.

Homosexuality is a fact of life, and has been since before the emergence of mankind.  As long as all parties involved are consenting adults they are entitled to the same legal rights as anyone else.  The argument you use against same s*x marriage is the same one that was used to oppose interracial marriage back in the 19th century, and to support racial segregation:  You want them kept out of sight so you don't have to acknowledge their humanity.  California's Supreme Court struck down in it's interracial marriage ban in 1948, and the U.S. Supreme Court followed in '68  with Loving vs Virginia, we can only hope it won't take that long this time.

  16. If you don't care what they do behind closed doors, why are you so bound and determined to continue to refuse them their civil rights?  ALL people should have the right to marry and file their taxes jointly and be carried on their spouses insurance and visit their bedside in the hospital when they are sick.  What do you have against them, if not the stuff they do behind closed doors?

  17. A) is a homophobe...

    B) No, that would be a "religion hater" not a "christian hater" there are many religions in this world (more logical to boot) than Christianity young man.

When you're denied certain asset and estate protections, tax protections/advantages, etc. solely for your choice of religion you'll have something to talk about.  Until then, you're DENYING homosexuals their equal protections under the law.  Regardless of how you spin this it is exactly what is going on.  You're unequivocally saying "we aren't going to give you the same tax shelters we have, because we don't like your sexual preference"

It has nothing to dow ith practicing homosexuality in public, but its a nice little cover.  If it were, you would be protesting and picketing g*y bars.....

  18. False premise.

NonChristians must submit to Christian propoganda in most aspects of our lives. We see it in the street, in the schools, in the courthouses, on our money, in tax shelters.....

No other religion gets that marketing by the government. Further, you are fully allowed under the law to chant your Christian propaganda anywhere you choose....just as you are allowed to suck face with your straight partner in any location you choose. If you are freely allowed to hold hands, make out, etc with the opposite s*x, then g*y people should also be allowed. If you want to ban ALL PDA, then fine...but you just want to ban ONE form of PDA...which is not fair or equal under the law. Further, what does PDA have to do with marriage?

  19. How is that NOT homophobic to say "you don't want them to practice their homosexuality in public"?

You favor laws that would make criminals out of law abidng ethical people. Just because you're uncomfortable with something doesn't mean there should be laws made to cater to your hatred. That's not the way it works.

Some people don't want any sexuality or intimacy practiced in public. Do you want a law banning heterosexuals from holding hands or kissing in public?

I have a feeling you're not bright enough to tell the difference. You are a homophobe and represent the trash of our country. People like you should be destroyed like we do to sick animals.

  20. Numbers.....they want to get the g*y vote at any cost.

If g*y people want to have civil unions let them but marriage is for us strait people.

  21. Because libs don't understand why conservatives would want any group excluded from exercising similar rights as everyone else unless the conservatives were biased against that group for some reason -- hence, the name calling.  If cons just didn't like using the word "marriage," they should invent some new term that would still allow homosexual couples access to the same rights as heterosexual ones.  Instead, conservatives seem to try to justify why it is still okay for America to oppress its homosexual citizens.

  22. Because like it or not, that is homophobia.

I practice reform Judiasm.  We accept homosexuality and will marry people.

  23. I'm a liberal and I don't feel that way at all, but seriously, c'mon, how much does it really effect you personally is Steve and Joe get married? I'm not a christian hater, but I dislike the christians who cower behind their faith as an escape goat for their bigotry. Lastly, I think all political parties who oppose each other do the same thing, not just lib's vs. conservs.

  24. That's called homophobia.  The inability to deal with the alternative sexuality in a public environment is homophobia.  You can allow all the private relationships you want, it doesn't change a thing.  As for the religion out of society thing, the main area that I oppose for Christianity is in government, and we have a law to support that, one that has held up for centuries.  We also have reasons behind it that go beyond "this is an abomination."  Care to provide solid reasons why g*y marriage shouldn't take place?  I still haven't heard a single one.

  25. Key word here is "phobia".  Just because you are opposed to something doesn't mean you're scared of it.

I'm opposed to making sweet sweet love to goats, doesn't mean I'm scared of them.  h**l, some of my best friends are goats.

  26. they don't and Liberals are not Chirstian haters, many, if not the majority of Liberals ARE Christian.  But you go ahead and keep generalizing.  it is what you learn listening to Hannityand Limbugh.

By the way, most Liberals are NOT pro-g*y marriage.  They simply support the free will that God gave us.  Good or bad.  Who are we to question God????

  27. first off... it's a free nation... why don't you want them to practice their homosexuality in public?

you clearly think it's ok for heterosexual people to do it?

what is behind your attitude? it sounds like you're saying "I don't like g*y people... but I'm not a homophobe"... correct me where I'm wrong...

and... you just admitted that you called liberals Christian haters...

and yet seem to be offended that they call you a homophobe?

also... why do many conservatives call those in favor of g*y marriage g*y? I'm not g*y... I just don't like the gov. telling people what they can and can't do...

  28. Outside of religion, there really is no reason other than homophobia to oppose g*y marriage.

Edit- and did anyone else find the hypocrisy in the question absolutely hilarious?

You blame "libs" for generalizing, when you in turn are doing the exact same thing to them.

  29. Because there is no constitutional basis to deny g**s the same contractual recognitions that straights enjoy through the CIVIL and LEGAL institution of marriage.

The best that conservatives can come up with is "being g*y is icky" and "God hates f**s."

That's why people who oppose g*y marriage are dismissed as homophobes.

  30. g**s are simply evolutionary failures. End of story. They want to practice that, fine. I'm sure I can't change their minds. But keep it to yourselves; stop corrupting US culture.

  31.                     Why would g*y's want to be married.

Rules have been set by the Feds and State Gov. to give them legal protection.I believe g*y's want to force their way into our homes and family life.          What they are saying I'll get back at you for the way you treated us all these years.
