Why do lights dim at low idle?

  1. there is nothing wrong with your alternator , when the revs drop the alternator slows up reducing the output of watts to your lights , your vehicle requires alot of electrical power so when your at low revs it gets drained quicker because of less output..most cars do the same thing , if u adjust ur idle up it might fix the problem...
