I don't know I often ask this question myself.

I haven't tried this but you can if you want,

Put about three layers of lip gloss or balm on your lips and get a clear lip plumper and put it over.

I did get one that didn't sting available in pink or clear and the make was Essence

Because what it's injecting is some chemical (I'm not sure what, sorry, but I'm sure you could find it on health websites). It causes a reaction, which is your lips plumping.
