Why do little kids on body boards always try to outdo proper surfers?

because they are kids and will always try to be better than everybody else. be laid back about it and just do your own thing.

because they see what we do and want to look good at what there doing to got love competition

because when your little you feel invincible... you have no worries and believe you can be the best at everything.... i so want to be a kid again...

because some day they will be doing the same thing you are now!!  Don't think we weren't doing the same stuff when we were young.  I did it to impress 11 year old girls when I was a kid but we all have our reasons.

my nephew (7 years old) does it all the time. He wants to be like his aunt. lol. he loves it. I'm personally honored that he tries to do it. atleast someone in my family wants to be like me. lol

They probably conquered surfing ( as once your up there isn't much else you do) and decided to try something more challenging!

Little kids on body boards often made a fool of me when on the waves...with their 360 degree turns, directing changes, and even jumping off of the wave to a great height altogether!

perhaps they love to see the "proper" surfers,are fascinated by the "proper" surfers and even at their young age hope to emulate the "proper" surfers and seriously enjoy their time in the water and on the beach....like hey man how cool is that.

Radical attitudes of the young generation...rebellion in the face of the elders and refusal to conform....like wow how weird is that?

Do "proper" surfers actually live in the uk?

with our usual p**s poor surfing conditions i would have thought most "proper" surfers would have gone abroad to where the surf is...rather than sit 100m out to sea and yap in a 1ft swell...lol

these little kids try looking great and no matter what anyone says there just pathetic wannabees!if i saw any of my neices or nephews doing this i would slap the silly out of them!!

Because they are kids. Try remember back to when you were a kid and thinking you were indistructable. You would try anything and everything while surfing. Without this surfing would never have progressed and we would be still surfing the old style boards with no skegs. Things change and move on. Let them rip it up.
