Why do lizard in sunset face west and kiss the ground?

  3. they face the sun because their body temperature depends on it.  they can't control it like warm-blooded animals.

    and they seem to "kiss the ground" because they pick up olfactory particles with their tongue.

    it has nothing to do with religion if that's where your question was headed to.
