Why do magpies swoop on me and will they stop?

i always to and from school, and in the morning and evening a big magpie that i think is always the same one, always swoops on me. Its is getting really annoying and im scared that they might rip out my skin, hurt my eyes or pull my hair or even beak my head which might cause damage to my temple....

im really worried about this.

why do magpies swoop people? and how to stop them?

and also when will they stop swooping me? its late august here and nearly spring,,,

  1. magpies swoop people because they are protecting their nest. If you know which tree their nest is in then when walking past constantly face the tree as you walk past. Because if you are looking at them they wont swoop. They only swoop if you aren't looking.


  2. Maybe if your eating and they are HUNGRY.

  3. its probably because they are looking after their babies, its happened to me before only because it was protecting its young/eggs!
