Do followers of Christ actually believe that they are entitled to some sort of wealth and prosperity ? Is this not a oxymoron? Isn't Christianity more about giving than receiving?

  1. Psalm 66:12

Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

    Psalm 112:3

Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

I am not wealthy and this is not my goal, but if God wants to give it to me than I am more than willing to receive it.

  2. What really bugs me is that SO MANY actually DONATE to those guys! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.

Well, God never said he loves us because we were SMART, did he?

He said we were sheep and we prove it over and over.

  3. Isn't it allegedly "Easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man (person) to get into Heaven"?  And didn't Jesus have a problem with the money-changers in the temple?  I do wonder how the so-called Christian leaders rationalize their massive wealth!

  4. you're right.. but it seems that American christians are more of receivers than givers.

look at Ted Haggard! he liked to receive...

  5. They do. You are paying attention to the wrong churches. I have mostly been in Baptist churches- I have always heard how wrong the prosperity gospel is.

  6. You are very right.  People don't fully understand the gospel.  God has HIS plan for us.  We should try to fit in where He wants us, not the other way around.
