  1. There are some people that do actually want to do their job because they enjoy it and lots of people need the daily stimulation.  I understand your question though - it's not as though they have to worry about paying bills or if they can afford to goon hols.  If it was me (I wish - would help of I played though) I would probably do voluntary work for something that I enjoyed doing like a little hobby that would benefit others.

I wonder if any lottery winners would ever consider paying the wage or topping up the wage of nurses and people that work in the caring proffession.  I bet that person would feel like they had also won the lottery for a year.

  2. it's not for the money, i think they are just so used to be working they would be lost without a bit of routine and normality

  3. The basic human is a creature of habit.

  4. Because they don't know what they're doing and should give the money back.

I admit it'd change me, the first thing I'd do is go into a PC World store, smash everything up, then pay for it, I would be a lottery winner with a personality.

  5. Its because, despite what people would like to think, having a job is about way more than earning money. We (mostly) all need to feel we have a purpose and a use to society in order to enhance our feelings of self esteem, plus there is the social interaction side of things too.

  6. Because many seem to miss the friendships that they may have built up over years. Two ladies who i think won money on bingo have continued working at some very low paid jobs because of their mates.

  7. because going to work is not always about money ....

  8. It shows that they love the particular jobs they are doing. In my case, I would definitely retire if I won a shedload of money.

  9. to still have a bit of normality in life because you would just go crazy with all that cash and time on your hands i think !!

  10. To socialise and stop the boredom

  11. Well we all have habit and routine Friends at work.,  and work  we like doing.       Also  what  would  we do after he  novelty  wore  off,   feel  bored and  frustrated...   nothing to do.    An active  person  would not want  to laze around  all day  in the sunshine.   fine for  holidays,  but not  all the time... ;Lots of  peope  work  or do  things  because  they  like  to,  not  because  they  have  to, A lot of pensioners  come in this category.. No too much money is not always  a blessing.

  12. They do need to: they just don't need the money.

  13. Lack of imagination?

Brainwashed into believing they ARE what they DO?

    Lonely.

Better to continue existing, honest relationships that form new ones that might have some motive other than friendship behind them.

I know a lottery winner (not well) who WANTED to continue working because he had no life outside of work but whose work colleagues made it impossible for him.  He now lives a sad and lonely life.

  14. dont wanna change

  15. i was talking to my boyfriend about this exact thing lately.

He told me he would still go to work, because "sitting in the house all day everyday would drive him insane" Hes the type of person who needs to be doing stuff around the house, or in the garden, and i think, the way he sees it, if he was to do the household things that need doing, after about a week he would be bored to tears.

I think, for him, going to work, isnt just about paying bills, its about actually getting out of the house, interacting with other people, keeping his mind busy etc.

me on the other hand, i wouldnt only quit, i would dangle the winning ticket in my bosses face and do a happy dance haha

  16. becuase they dont want their life to change, they have workmates they will miss, and need time to come to terms with their win.  It could change in the future perhaps they ought to donate their salary to a charity and do volunary work instead

  17. I dunno, it's beyond me to be honest, surely after winning the lottery you'd want to travel the world and do everything you always wanted to, then possibly open their own business. These people who win the lottery and then go back to their minimum wage street sweeping job are nuts imo

  18. Becuase they want to make sure that they are still having a flow of money coming in while lots of money is giong out. Also becuase if they quit it would be very boring. And plus working isn't just about the money, you also have relationships there and stuf.
