Why do many hispanic men think it's okay to talk to women very inappropriately?

Question

First off, i KNOW that it's not all hispanic males. I am not a racist. I have met many respectable hispanic men and I am well aware of the fact that not all of them exhibit this behavior.

However, in some areas, this is a real problem (once again, NOT all areas). Women where I live often get oogled and hit on by hispanic men, most of whom do not speak english, more than males of any other race. I'm confused as to why they believe it is appropriate behavior to treat perfectly respectable women as if they're cheap hookers whose existence on this earth is purely for making lewd comments towards.

it doesnt matter if your perfectly respectable or trash Men are Men and some are good some are bad some are horrible some are just incredible it all depends on the person and how they want to treat others and i am half hispanic im Mixed and i can tell you i have seen White men do the same thing! but im not racist my boyfriend is white and we have a baby due in october! but im just letting you knwo its everybody in general people are all different goodluck with life and dont worry about how other people are trust me if i can change some people i can but you can only worry about yourself in the end really...=)

Hello,

They only do so because the women let them get away with it. Some Latino men are a little braver and brazen due to the macho image in comparison with other cultures.

That said, this begs the question though, why do some women, yes even respectable ones dress hot and s**y if they do not want to be drooled and gawked at let alone approached? Dress Amish or Islamic style and I guarantee they won't get a fleeting wicked thought directed at them.

I'd say most Hispanic men are pervs .... and not ashamed to flirt with a single / good looking woman even if they are married men they still do this....

I think it is their way of showing that they are "Macho".   For some reason it seems acceptable in their country.

I have slapped a couple of my Hispanic  male co-workers who even tried touching/ grabbing my leg from behind.  I let them know that it is not ok even when other women at my work place encourages that they be touched or talked to in a lewd manner.  

Yes, I slapped my co-workers and told them that they are neither my bf, my husband, my brother or father, and that they wouldn't want their mothers to be treated the way they treat me and also that the next time they even come close to doing something like that I was going to sue them for sexual harassment.   That stopped it and they never dared again and other males at my work place heard about it and are being much more respectful...

*Jazz, I know they care about their family and they do work hard ... but so do other men of different races.  Just because a man cares about their family doesn't mean that they are perfect and respectful.  They care about their women that they choose to mistreat other women and not their own, right?  and,So what if they act inappropriately? Raise your little boys that way. Oh and by the way... you must enjoy lewd comment and sexual harassment-- you are part of the problem in this society. The question here is about Hispanic men. You are the worst people this world can have i am disgusted by some of their comments in what place do you think you are to be calling hispanic men animals or pervs you are probably some low life losers that cant and never will have something good.

Yea so what some latino men do approach women in inappropriate ways but so do a lot of black, white andAsiann men. Besides that i can guaranteee that they care more about their families and work more then you will ever imagine.

If you understand that this is not ALL Hispanic men, why are you posting this? Those same men in other similar areas have white, black, asian, etc counterparts. It depends on how they were raised. You should be asking why men in general are like this.

well i has a lot to do with machismo. they think its proving their manlyness by  rooting and hooting at women when actually all it displays is their immaturity. its a cheap thrill that shows what morons those particular men might be. next time just scream back 'do u kiss ur mother with a mouth like that!" or if u want to be ignorant and dumb back at them scream 'la migra!" and point behind them that will make them stop...
